Carbonite back up.

Last month we told you about a free trail Carbonite were offering for Mac users, did any one use it and was it any good.

I originally loved Carbonite when it came out but recently I’ve been finding that it’s slowing my PC down at about 3pm every day. I’d love to hear you Carbonite tips and tricks.

Free back up for Mac’s

I’m thinking of getting my first Mac so was doing a bit of research this morning. I’ve been using Carbonite Online back up on my pc for the last couple for years and wanted to see if they had a Mac version yet. They still seem to be in the development process with it but I did find this link.

The SEO 80 / 20

When you start focusing your efforts on improving your sites search engine optimization it can really feel like a daunting task, there is so much information and where to start?
Well how about this…

These 3 factors make up 80% of google’s ranking criteria.

• Keyword Phrase in Title Tag
• Keyword Phrase in Inbound Link Text
• Optimized Page Rank Distribution

If you surf your site, you’ll see in the top left of your internet browser the page title. Make sure ‘title’ this is meaningful to the search’s your trying to attract. The next big factor if not the biggest is your incoming links, you can check your incoming links on google using ( links: www.yoursite.com ) the more you can build the better. Especially ones from ‘authority’ sites preferably with high page rank, when you are asking for links or you are including them in press releases etc you MUST make sure that they contain the key phrase that you are using in the Title tag, i.e

< a h r e f ="http://www.yoursite.com"> title=”My Title”>

This will ensure that all the links pointing to your site are mirroring your main keywords.

Page rank is determined by the quality of incoming links so an ongoing link building strategy would be beneficial. Link building should also include links that you create in things like online press releases and article submissions.

When you’ve got these three nailed down then you can move onto the next 100+ points, this is a good place to start >>

So you’ve seen the new Apple IPhone ?

Ok, we all know the new apple IPhone is very cool, especially if you’re like me and are interested in new User Interfaces (UI) it really looks like it’s way ahead of other devices, and for me thats really encouraging, it’s just the way our devices should be going, getting much much easier to use.

Wouldn’t the best device be one that came with no instructions, one that had an interface so intuitive that, you just knew how to work it, and if you didn’t, it knew and helped you, science fiction ?

Amazing free heat map tool.

You may or may not have heard about heat maps, they really are amazing, and offer so much usable information to help you pretty much instantly boost your websites performance. Basically they show you what parts of your webpage are getting the most attention and which parts are not.

With information like this you can adjust and tweak your individual pages to their maximum potential. Up to now this kind of technology has been pretty exclusive and EXPENSIVE, but not anymore. I really can’t rate this service highly enough head straight over too Crazyegg and create your free account and start improving your site, your conversion rates and boosting your profits.
